As of Oct. 1, Sigma Medical Group has a small supply of seasonal flu vaccinations remaining.
Sigma Medical Group’s seasonal flu shot clinic held on Sept. 26 was extremely successful. At that clinic, we distributed twice the amount of seasonal flu vaccines than at a similar clinic in October 2008. Our offices are also seeing higher demand for the seasonal flu vaccine than in previous years.
We anticipate receiving additional shipments of the seasonal flu vaccine in early to mid November. Delays in receiving the seasonal flu vaccines are due to pharmaceutical companies shifting production from making seasonal flu vaccines to H1N1 vaccines. As a result, Sigma Medical Group’s second seasonal flu shot clinic on Saturday, Oct. 17 has been cancelled.
Once we receive delivery of additional shipments of the seasonal flu vaccine, we will notify the community and schedule another seasonal flu clinic at our various locations in Lafayette and West Lafayette.

Note: this is the vaccine for the normal seasonal flu, not for the H1N1 influenza. More information on the H1N1 vaccination will be made available at a later date.
